We would like to invite you to the upcoming NeuroSeeker workshop, which will take place in Nijmegen on November 23rd and 24th. This workshop is organized in conjunction with Neuroinformatics.NL.

On November 23rd and the morning of the 24th, we have arranged hands-on workshops dealing with NeuroSeeker's 'First Data'. We will be introduced to methods for spike sorting, time-frequency analysis and analysis of behavioural data. On Tuesday afternoon we join Neuroinformatics.NL for a symposium on 'Big Data in Electrophysiology'. Questions relating to processing, organization and utilization of large amounts of electrophysiology data are addressed.

For more details please have a look at our program.

Extracellular recording is a core method for recording the activity of individual neurons in vivo. To gather validation data, for which we know when a neuron nearby the extracellular probe is active, we developed in NeuroSeeker a new technique for "paired recordings". It uses high accuracy mechanical manipulators to position two probes, i.e. the extracellular device and a glass micro-pipette capable of isolating a single neuron, very close to one another. This ground truth dataset is made available through http://www.kampff-lab.org/validating-electrodes/ to validate new analysis-methods for the interpretation of high density neural recordings.

NeuroSeeker and Champalimaud Neuroscience Programme will host a 1-day workshop that brings together representatives of different projects developing ‘advanced electrode technology’. The goal of the workshop...

The University of Parma, Department of Neuroscience, will host a 1-day workshop on Interactions between distant cortical sites on June 18, 2014.
